Sexy Ukip films

Ukip must be wondering what on earth is going on:

First Community Care recently posted an article noting that the UK Independence Party chief Paul Wiffen has been suspended following his racist rant that went as follow:

Britain is full, you prat! Even your scummy, illiterate Grauniad admits it!

In the circumstances, I think “get lost” is positively polite. “Go forth and multiply” elsewhere would be my wording.

You left-wing scum are all the same, wanting to hand our birthright to Romanian gypsies who beat their wives and children into begging and stealing money they can gamble with, Muslim nutters who want to kill us and put us all under mediaeval Sharia law, the same Africans who sold their Afro-Caribbean brothers into a slavery that Britain was the first to abolish (but you still want to apologize for!)

Worry about where we are going to live and grow food, you wanker, not the UKIP policy that might just save your worthless skin!

And now it turns out also that another Ukip politician has been suspended for making sex game films. From the Telegraph:

Rob Ager was chairman of UKIP’s Liverpool branch until party chiefs found out about his films, which include scenes of bondage, incarceration and flagellation.

One of Mr Ager’s films, called The Sex Game, features a half-naked man being whipped and abused by a “dominatrix”.

Another, called The Victim, features what Mr Ager describes as “a duo of deranged sadists” who capture a man at random so that he can be “tortured and eventually killed”.

Until he was warned off doing so by party officials, some of his films also contained plugs for Ukip in the closing credits.

[…]

Mr Ager confirmed he had been asked to step down but defended his films, saying many commercial productions were “much more sexually and violently explicit”.

He said: “My material is pretty tame. I put a lot of intelligent material into the scripts.”

The two disgraced members of Ukip have one thing in common: They are both filmmakers.

Lesson: Never trust a Ukip filmmaker

My idea for Taxi Driver 2

In February Peter Bradshaw said: “Well, how about a proper sequel to Taxi Driver, 34 years on?”

Then suggested:

Jodie Foster, now a grownup, respectable woman with kids and maybe grand-kids, is in New York for a National Rifle Association convention and Sarah Palin Tea Party rally. She sees a young guy in her hotel lobby who reminds her of someone – perhaps it’s those sunglasses and the outrageous mullet hairstyle. Taking her handgun from her luggage, she sets out to rescue Travis Jr from a life of depravity. Unlikely? Well, do remember that Lars Von Trier is involved.

To which I replied in the comments thread:

Taxi Driver 2 should reveal the truth about Travis Bickle – and that is that he is part of the government, hired to assassinate a progressive candidate, and this was cryptically revealed when writing to his parents, saying he couldn’t reveal to them where he lived as he was working for the government. This is true. All that stuff he admits to the candidate in the taxi (got to get rid of the filth, doesn’t know what it is, he can just smell it), it covertly reveals the true character – which is disturbed in the process of saving the young prostitute, who then grows up to be a student at the FBI Academy. If you like, Peter, we could co-write?

I stand by that.

Peter Bradshaw did not comment further.
